Squeaky wrote: Mon Aug 10, 2020 1:49 pm So sorry to hear Mack still using LW as his trainer. Feel very bad for him and especially for the horse. With all of the new technology for screenings for bone bruising/ micro fractures it is sad that these type of catastrophic injuries still occur. You know this horse had ore- existing micro-fractures. I think the days of saying “ he/ she just took a bad step and that’s part of racing “ are over, or should be.
I agree. There's a horse racing page on Facebook that made a tribute to libertyrun. They are spewing the "he took a bad step" rhetoric to people asking what happened. And anybody who posts details or argues with the founder is having their comments deleted because they are "negative" she said that post is not the place to talk about libertyruns death and that mattress Mac and wohlers love their horses, give them great care and would never harm or push them

Does anyone else feel that naming a horse "Inject" brings some unsavory images to mind? :?
Good thing he's not a Servis horse. :P

Curly Ruth (3yo filly by Curlin x MGSW Rutherienne) won her 2nd start in Monmouth's 1st race, an 8.5f off-turf MSW, on 8/16/2020. Her record now sits at 2-1-1-0.

I loved Rutherienne during her racing days....this name, though, ugh.

Entered at Del Mar on 8/22/2020 in a 1m turf MSW. Eblouissante also has a runner in that race, Form A Square (4yo by Oasis Dream) will also make his second start in that race.

Thankful broke her maiden in impressive style yesterday at the Spa going 9 furlongs on the main track. She's a half-sister to G3W Brazen Persuasion by American Pharoah.

Golden Pal (Uncle Mo x Lady Shipman), in his first start back Stateside, was downright freakish today at the Spa. Set fast fractions and opened up under very mild urging to win by several lengths. Just a few ticks off the course record too. He was clearly unlucky not to win Ascot.

Grass fire in his wake.

He tired late in the Norfolk (softer ground?).

Express Train (Unio Rags/I'm a Flake) came back off of a pretty lengthy layoff to win the 10th at Del Mar impressively. He's full to winner Layla, his third dam is MG1W November Snow, and from the family of Morning Line :)

EDIT: he scored a personal best 108 BSF.

Saturday at Ellis Park Midnight Bourbon broke his maiden going a mile by 5-1/2 lengths. The half-brother to Girvin by Tiznow seems like one worth keeping an eye on.

One that I missed:

Also at Ellis over the weekend, Navratilova (Medaglia d'Oro x Centre Court) broke her maiden sprinting on turf.
