It would appear so.

Sottsass was impressive though. And I hadn't realized he was the younger brother of Sistercharlie! What a nice producer Starlet's Sister has turned out to be.

Thanks for the update on My Sister Nat. I do really fancy that they have bred Starlet's Sister to different stallions; it seems she crosses well with just about everyone.

There was a nice article in Monday's TDN about the "sisters."

The Weekly Wrap: Not Just A Sister Act
It is said that revenge is a dish best served cold. Peter Brant’s revenge mission was delivered under a blisteringly hot Chantilly sun but, for the American owner of Prix du Jockey Club winner Sottsass (Fr) (Siyouni {Fr}), it sure did taste sweet.

Two years ago on the same stretch of turf, Brant’s newly acquired Sistercharlie (Ire) (Myboycharlie {Ire}) was hampered in her run just over a furlong from home in the Prix de Diane and ended up finishing a running-on second to Senga (Blame). That filly alone has more than atoned for initial disappointment and was crowned champion turf mare in America last year after four Grade 1 victories. Brant’s belief in the family has been strong, and he bought Sistercharlie’s half-sister, the Group 3 winner My Sister Nat (Fr) (Acclamation {GB}), last season before shipping her to America to join her elder sibling in Chad Brown’s team.

Yeah. Her 2yo colt is by Charm Spirit, her yearling colt by Fastnet Rock, her 2019 filly is by Dubawi and they sent her back to him, the first time she has revisited a stallion.

Wasn't sure where to post this but across the pond, Jamie Osborne's barn experienced a fire. It looks as though part of his house burned down but thankfully no human or horse (or any other animal for that matter) was injured. Furthermore, Constanzia (a 2yo filly) who was stuck in her stall due to the fire being too close to her stall door, won today at Chelmsford.

Jamie Osborne is a big social media personality, some of you might know him for his naughty dogs Bobby and Bridget who love to chase the 'big rabbits' on the gallops. He was being as positive as he could be about the whole situation on his Twitter this morning but seeing how much Constanzia's win meant to him today made me very emotional. Hope the yard recovers soon.

My goodness, that's awful. So glad all the people, horses and pets are okay. I have seen those hilarious videos on Twitter. Hope Jamie's well insured and can rebuild and recover quickly!

This is technically old news, but I don't think it has been talked about on here, and the subject horse is running today.

Airlie beach's Unplanned First Foal Given a Fitting Moniker (2017)
https://www.racingpost.com/bloodstock/a ... ker/302524

In a nutshell, here's what happened.

- Howard Kirk buys a bay yearling colt by Enrique (FR) for €25,000. The colt is named Miguel Angel (FR).
- Miguel Angel is given to trainer Michael Mullins, who believes him to be gelded.
- Mullins pastures Miguel Angel with fillies.
- At some point, I'm assuming during training as a juvenile, bay filly by Shantou named (USA) Airlie Beach (IRE) is discovered to be pregnant.
- It is also discovered at some point that Miguel Angel was not a gelding.
- Surprise! Miguel Angel covered Airlie Beach at some point during the spring of their juvenile year (they're the same age).
- Airlie Beach is allowed to carry the foal to term, and she foals a bay colt.
- Colt is later named "Accidental", with Mullins listed as the breeder.
- After her son grows up, Airlie Beach returns to training, and wins a Grade 1 hurdle during her career.
- Miguel Angel was later gelded. He hasn't run since 2016 but he was a winner on the track.

As of today, 6yo Accidental has only made four starts and is still a maiden. He is entered today in an evening race at Kilbeggan.

Update on Accidental. Racing Post lists him as "PU" in the race today, which I'm assuming means "pulled up."

It does. It's pretty common in jumps racing, I wouldn't be too worried about him.

I'm legitimately upset.

Wonder what we can find on Miguel Angel.

Two potential superstars won today at the Curragh. Juddmonte’s Siskin (First Defense x Bird Flown, by Oasis Dream) won the 6f Railway Stakes for two year olds, with Monarch of Egypt in 2nd.
