Do you think Brown Ratchet was disappointing or overblown because of her brother?

Brown Ratchet was definitely a very-good-looking winner of the G3 Artemis Stakes winner last time out.
And she had an excuse yesterday as she had lost many weights and she will need some rest before she regains her fine form.
I would say that Forever Darling(USA)(Congrats) may well be a versatile producer.

Fingers crossed that Brown Ratchet will be able to score a G1 in 2025. I like that they chose Real Steel for Forever Darling's 2024 mating, but I hope they get a full sister to Forever Young.

Myriad Love(JPN), 2022F. New Year's Day(USA) x Ladybird(JPN) by Smart Falcon(JPN), won the Zen-Nippon Nisai Yushun(L) 1600m dirt at Kawasaki to remain unbeaten 3 for 3 on Dec 11th 2024.
The Zen-Nippon Nisai Yushun is the second leg of the Japan Road to the Kentucky Derby.
Will she be the first Japanese filly to contest the Run for the Roses?
Like Forever Young(JPN), the winner of the 2023 Zen-Nippon Nisai Yushun, Myriad Love is slated to run next in the Saudi Derby at Riyadh.

With not really knowing any of those juveniles, I am going to go with the tried-and-true scientific method of 'Oooooh, PRETTY!' to pick who I'm cheering for: Nitamonodoshi, Admire Zoom, and Taisei Current.

This is the first time the Asahi Hai is run at Kyoto.
Horses closing well from outside has been doing well recently at Kyoto.
I'm going with the 4th choice Panja Tower.

Fifth favorite Admire Zoom(JPN), 2022C. Maurice(JPN) x Daiwa Zoom(JPN) by Heart's Cry(JPN), won the G1 Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes impressively under Yuga Kawada!
He is the sixth G1 winner for the sire Maurice(JPN)(Screen Hero).

I like to look at their pedigrees, specifically female family, and see if I recognize anyone. I see his 2nd dam is a 1/2 sister to an old favorite of mine, MG1 Strategic Maneuver. https://x.com/DRFLivingston/status/976884408769765376

Admire Zoom was certainly an easy winner. Looking forward to seeing horses contest the Hopeful later this month.

Thank you for your comment!!

The 3rd dam as well as the foundation broodmare of the G1 Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes winner Admire Zoom(JPN) is Prayer Wheel(CAN), a Canadian import.

And, coincidentally, the 3rd dam as well as the foundation broodmare of the G1 Hanshin Juvenile Fillies winner Arma Veloce(JPN) is Morristone Belle(CAN), also a Canadian import.

Prayer Wheel(CAN), the Natalma Stakes runner-up in 1988, was introduced to Japan by Teruya Yoshida's Shadai Farm.
Morristone Belle(CAN), the Natalma Stakes winner in 1991, was introduced to Japan by Katsumi Yoshida's Northern Farm.

We won't know who will be crowned the champion 2yo colt this year until we see the Hopeful Stakes winner on Dec 28th.

Will the lightest JRA winner (at 338 kilogram= 745 lbs) be a wonderful broodmare?
In the Japanese racing history, the 1971 Japanese Oaks winner Kane Himuro(JPN) remains the lightest Classic winner (at 384 kilogram = 864 lbs). And she produced the 1978 Horse of the Year Kane Minobu(JPN) as a broodmare.
Best of luck to Melody Lane!!! :D
She has the pedigree.

Don't know if he'll win but I would love to see Rousham Park back up that Breeders' Cup form by running well here.

JRA's 3yos&up G1s have so far been dominated by the older horses this Autumn:

Sprinters Stakes won by Lugal C4
Tenno Sho Autumn won by Do Deuce H5
QE2 Cup won by Stunning Rose M5
Mile Championship won by Soul Rush H6
Japan Cup won by Do Deuce H5
Champions Cup won by Lemon Pop H6

In this context, this year's Arima Kinen could be seen as a crucial test for the 3yos Danon Decile, Urban Chic and Regaleira when the Japanese racing needs a new star going into a new year.
Actually the 3yos are well supported in the betting especially after Do Deuce has been withdrawn.
I would rather place more money on the older horses quoted with juicy odds.

Stunning Rose, Rousham Park, Prognosis, Urban Chic.
