Happy dance! Crystal Ocean is no slouch.

She is a tremendous racehorse, but it would be amazing if she could win the Arc with just one prep race since last year's win in the French classic.

Awful hard to look past Alpha Centauri in the Matron so I'm more excited about the Irish Champion. Because I'm a fan of the mares Cambiocorsa and Miesque, I'd love to see a 1-2 finish of Roaring Lion and Study of Man.

I'm looking forward to both races, which I'll be able to see in real time on TVG, as they're going off after 9 AM Pacific time. I'm a happy Left Coaster. :D

The St. Leger is today as well, with Lah Ti Dar running against Kew Gardens.

Not Frankie’s best ride on Lah Ti Dar. Should have moved sooner.

Roaring Lion just gets there in the Champion Stakes, running down rival Saxon Warrior yet again!

That was a great race between two very good colts. Saxon Warrior got the jump on Roaring Lion, but the Kitten's Joy son was the better horse, overtaking SW to push his head in front.
That grey is really a tough competitor, and IMO KJ passes an intense competitive drive down to his offspring, along with the talent to run. 8-)

With Roaring Lion's win, Kitten's Joy just overtook Candy Ride as North America's leading general sire.

What a time to be alive.

I’d still give it to Alpha Centauri. She has more G1 wins, including one over older males. She beat Recoletos in the Jacques le Marois (G1), who then came back to win the Prix du Moulin de Longchamp (G1) in his next start.

Watch Roaring Lion REALLY kick it in gear at 2:28. Scary.

Too Darn Hot won the Champagne S.(G2), he is a full brother to Lah Ti Dar.

Interesting this story says he was injured when he was very young and they thought he wouldn't make the track. Their advisors told them not to even try to sell him at auction, like the Lloyd-Webers do with all their male foals.

I assume she was showing signs of lameness or pain on flexion. Probably won't know how she is until tonight or tomorrow after the adrenaline wears off and they see how well she's eating. Often it's minor and just need a little time to recover.

Saxon Warrior ran well, but Roaring Lion was so much the best to overcome that trip. Got wound up down the lane and when he switched leads it was never in doubt.

Ah well, this isn't good...still hoping it's minor.

Unfortunately Alpha Centauri sustained an injury to her right front fetlock and has been sent to the Fethard Equine Clinic for further evaluation.
