I just came here to say that he races in Race 1 at SA. I am curious to see if he lives up to the hype!

Rain is expected today at Santa Anita athough the forecasts seem to be pushing it back until late afternoon or evening. I suspect SA won't pull its "oh no a drizzle we'd better cancel!" act as with all the East Coast cancellations, there's going to be a lot of money waiting to be wagered!
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

Maymun won easy peasy, the announcer said by 7 lengths.

Wow! Very impressive. Juan could not pull him up after. What a monster. Opening half in :43 and change. Rumors were this was Bob’s best horse and he lived up to the hype. Would like to see him vs Nysos but will likely keep them apart.

Looks like he sure did. That was really impressive.

I wonder how they go about the rest of the year. He'd have to be moved from Baffert to go the Derby route. They have 9 days for that. And with Nysos a Baffert horse, another potential monster, it'll be interesting how it all shakes out with the west coast stakes schedule.

Track Phantom (Quality Road x Miss Sunset) takes the Lecomte by 3 lengths over 2nd Nash (MdO). Looked good.

Nice win. Is this the mare’s first foal?

Hall of Fame (Gun Runner x a Giant's Causeway mare) broke his maiden by ten at FG in a time a couple of ticks faster than the Lecomte. However, the flop of Ethan Energy in the latter race reminds us to be cautious about maiden winners!

The Feb. 17th Risen Star looks to be coming up extremely strong, with Track Phantom, Honor Marie, Hall of Fame, Snead and Catching Freedom all targeting the race.

Maymun also received a 94 BSF. Winterfell another one to watch by Arrogate. Currently training at LA will come to Bob soon. Is a big gray who looks like his sire.

At least there aren't too many terrible Derby-worthy names on major candidates so far. Hall of Fame--how is that available? :) Although I admit that Muth wouldn't be my choice of a name on the Derby list (not that he's likely to be there, LOL).

I really like the name Winterfell
