Hopefully he recovers well. Still plenty of time to add him to the New Mexico stallion register!

Thanks for that update, hope DJK gets a good retirement spot. This could have ended worse.

Has there been any DJK updates?

Hello,
Excuse my grammar. After spending lots of money in artificial insemination on my mares I decided to buy a stud.
My grand father was known as Don Juan so when I saw Don Juan Kitten for sale and saw his pedigree I literally could not sleep that night of anxiety of how I was going to come up with the funds to purchase him. Upon arrival the vet checked him out he had no signs of any past injuries from hear say I was informed they wrapped one of his legs to get him at low price at the auction. A gentlemen asked to borrow the horse and take him out for a couple of races. I figured great, to have the horse known for when its ready to put him in the stud registry. Which I hope to be this coming year. I'm new to this and I know this journey will take longer but he's an amazing horse and I cant wait to see his foals.

If this is true for real then it's probably the best news I've gotten in a while.

Thanks for the update. I was hoping to find a video of that victory.
Glad you're taking care of him. He was a real good turf runner, faced some really top horses.
Looking at the Equibase charts, the owner does match the user name, so I'm guessing this is real.

I saw the comment about artificial insemination and figured, obviously, not TB mares. Hopefully it’s not to feed the bush track pipeline.

I'm pretty sure the "take him out" (for racing) were the races that have already occurred on the fair circuit, and that he will be a stallion this year.

the person you quoted has been anything but tactful and pleasant. i hope they didn't already drive off DJK's new owner.brunanas wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2024 7:04 pmwhy would you say that? judging off of 2 posts?

The "take him out for a few races" already happened, then he had the injury in the Turf Paradise race.
Safe to say DJK's racing career is over, is how I took the post from the owner.

Take him out with that I mean no more racing just going to stud and for multiple breeds is the goal
