Between the two Zen sons, Ziconic seems the more talented, and to have a nice, balanced...though compact...conformation. With his pedigree, I could see a few breeders taking a chance on Zic....if the fee is very reasonable.

3rd beaten by 1/2 length after his usual slow start, at least Ziconic's bringing home checks. For a brief moment there in the stretch, I thought he might get there. Oh well, he sure is a looker.

That horse wouldn't break fast if he had an electric prod on both haunches.

Look who's back on the work-tab, California Chrome's little sis, apparently in Kristin Mulhall's barn now.

The filly Fan Dii Na was really worked up before the race, and that may have diminished her ability to accelerate in the stretch. Wonder if she'll be back with her own gender next out.
Huh, wonder what's up...

I'm intrigued that she's running back on turf when she broke her maiden easily on dirt. I'm going to toss her last race (also on dirt), since she had a stupid trip and was DQed for interference.

I was surprised too and that's why I noted it in the post. Her debut was on turf and she finished 2nd, but her next out win on dirt was really nice. Maybe it's the only race for her that filled? I don't know Laurel's race cards very well.

Yeah, it's possible that was the only one they could get for her.

She actually finished 4th but the #1 horse was DQ'd from 2nd to 5th. Rough race early and late. How steadied pretty hard on the first turn. She still looks a little green to me.

How (IRE) finished 3rd beaten by 2 lengths, on April 20, 2017, at KEENELAND in Race 9.
Off odds: 4.70

With a red tail tag, too. I'm guessing she has quite the personality...

I have to wonder if Stay Gold passes down hot temper along with the talent.
Orfervre's 'quirks' probably cost him the Arc, and Gold Ship was downright dangerous, IMHO. I know the fans loved his 'personality,' but I suspect that the gate crew who had to deal with him up close weren't so fond of his antics. :P ;)

Leading Score (Midnight Lute x Shameful), half brother to Indian Blessing, won the 10th at Santa Anita. He won the six furlong MSW by what looked like double digits. :o Appears that Shameful has thrown another really good sprinter.

She is scratched.

Wren's Day (Medaglia d'Oro), a 1/2 brother to Grace Hall, broke his maiden at Saint-Cloud today.
