Between the two Zen sons, Ziconic seems the more talented, and to have a nice, balanced...though compact...conformation. With his pedigree, I could see a few breeders taking a chance on Zic....if the fee is very reasonable.

That was a strong performance and I look for this colt to do big things this year.
The filly Fan Dii Na was really worked up before the race, and that may have diminished her ability to accelerate in the stretch. Wonder if she'll be back with her own gender next out.

I'm intrigued that she's running back on turf when she broke her maiden easily on dirt. I'm going to toss her last race (also on dirt), since she had a stupid trip and was DQed for interference.

I was surprised too and that's why I noted it in the post. Her debut was on turf and she finished 2nd, but her next out win on dirt was really nice. Maybe it's the only race for her that filled? I don't know Laurel's race cards very well.

She actually finished 4th but the #1 horse was DQ'd from 2nd to 5th. Rough race early and late. How steadied pretty hard on the first turn. She still looks a little green to me.

I have to wonder if Stay Gold passes down hot temper along with the talent.
Orfervre's 'quirks' probably cost him the Arc, and Gold Ship was downright dangerous, IMHO. I know the fans loved his 'personality,' but I suspect that the gate crew who had to deal with him up close weren't so fond of his antics.
