Mr. Hot Stuff is still gorgeous but, man, he must be a difficult bastard to handle. Even as a gelding, I see he is still wearing more restraining gear on his head than Hannibel Lecter.

He has the standard halter and stud chain over his bridle. Nothing new. If anything, the chain is over his nose and not under his lip so it's less control.

Glad to hear he is still in training; he looks as handsome as ever. Though I admit I was hoping to see him locally for the Queen's Cup. ;)

Little Red Feather announced on Twitter and Facebook they purchased Egg Drop's first foal, a colt by Tapit, at the OBS March sale today for $200,000. Congrats to the owners and here's hoping lightning strikes twice!

$200,000 for a colt by Tapit out of a G1 winning mare seems like a steal.

There must be something in his vet reports that turned off the top buyers. Or they didn't like the way he went in the breeze show.

He certainly looks like mom, and appears handsome and correct enough in the photo posted above. Must be something we don't know about. Did he breeze slowly?

Sounds like he's on the small side, but correct, and personality like mom.

Family Reunion: Little Red Feather Buys Son of Egg Drop
"I was standing in the ring with Bob Baffert and... he was inspecting the colt, putting his hands on him, checking him out. And I was like I can't outgun Baffert. He's got more money than we do,'" the founder and managing partner of Little Red Feather Racing said March 16, still weary from the whirlwind OBS March 2-year-olds in training sale he had just returned from. "So I'm thinking to myself 'He's going to buy this horse'.

"Then he went and reached under (the colt's) belly and, when he did, the colt literally like a cobra tried to kick him. And Baffert jumped back. The second he did that, I was like 'Oh God, we have to buy this horse. He is just like his mother.'"

Before becoming the dam of the feisty son of Tapit, who was part of Eddie Woods' consignment, Egg Drop was the best of divas for the Little Red Feather partnership.

Nicknamed the "White Witch', the snow-colored distaffer gave her owners a grade 1 triumph in the 2013 Matriarch Stakes (G1T)—one of her three career graded wins—and when she sold to Bridlewood Farm for $1.9 million at the 2014 Keeneland November breeding stock sale, the emotional connection she inspired had Koch wiping tears in the pavilion as he talked about letting her go.

I don't know why small is such a turn-off at the sales. Has anyone ever shown that smaller horses are at a disadvantage?

Hah, I'm sure we can all think of good/great money-earning horses that are on the small side, or have any number of things about them that bidders didn't like. I think it's great that there may be some illogical thinking that opens the window for some bargains to be had out there (not that $200k is cheap to me).

I think it's pretty funny they called her the White Witch. I hope the colt does well for them.

With that breeding, I'd have loved to been a fly on the wall watching them break that colt.

According to our 2015 Names thread, the Egg Drop colt has been named Scrambled.
