Presented without comment:
"A member of the Bin Laden family made a successful start to life as an owner when Binadham recorded a winning debut for Kevin Philippart de Foy in the 5f maiden.
In October, Mohammed Saleh Bin Laden, 41, spent more than £2.5 million on yearlings at Tattersalls under the name of Salhia Stud Limited – a company in which he is listed as the majority shareholder."

The Bin Laden family owns a huge construction conglomerate in the Middle East. It was quite disconcerting to be on a U.S. military base there with a big sign on a construction site announcing that this was a Bin Laden Project. I think I still have the photo somewhere...

Isn't Bin Laden the surname of a very large family?
How do you think the rest of the McVeigh family feels, knowing the association with their family name?

Merci Monsieur Olivier Peslier!!
Peslier-san was a superstar not only in France but also in Japan. He was loved by everyone.
I saw him in person at Belmont Park as he had a mount in the G1 Garden City BCH in 2003.
I spoke to him in Japanese as he was approaching to the paddock.
He understood my Japanese and responded in Japanese with Kansai dialect.
He was always my favorite jockey, even if he derailed Japan's hope by defeating Orfevre(JPN) with Solemia(IRE) in the 2012 Arc.
Arigatou Peslier-san!

I stayed up late last night to watch the G1s at Sha Tin but, in the middle of the G1 QE2 Cup, FanDrool decided to run FIVE full-screen commercials.
Never got to watch the last half of what looked like an exciting race, FanDrool never ran a replay when all the ads were finally over, and they didn't even bother to show results.
If you didn't know that the FanDrool suits making decisions behind the curtain really don't give a frack about horse racing, that made it pretty clear.
Found the results on RacingPost this morning, and see that Romantic Warrior won over Japan's Prognosis.

Sort of bummed that City of Troy flopped. All of Justify's big runners aren't doing so hot this weekend so far.HB1994 wrote: ↑Sat May 04, 2024 10:42 amFlashy, isn’t he?CoronadosQuest wrote: ↑Sat May 04, 2024 10:34 amI pulled up the feed to watch City of Troy, got distracted by how gorgeous Ten Bob Tony is and forgot to even look at City of Troy

Wonder if they still plan to send him to the Travers.

I would say, unless he wins the Derby in dominant fashion, his American plans are scrapped.CoronadosQuest wrote: ↑Sat May 04, 2024 10:57 amWonder if they still plan to send him to the Travers.
A reminder about this quote from O’Brien
“I would say no doubt he’s the best two-year-old I’ve had – just the size and the scope and the way he travelled and delivered it.
“In February he was a totally unfurnished baby, but was still head and shoulders above everything else and when they’re doing that at that time of year, you could see he was going to be exceptional.
“It’s a joy when these horses come along. Every year you’re looking for good horses and he is a special one.”
Was he talking about City of Troy in that quote? No, Air Force Blue in 2015.
