Lord Kanaloa and Maurice should be higher imo but other than that, it’s a solid list. Deep Impact was just something else

Sodashi ranked too high in my opinion.

And thanks to Mylute and Tachyon for the update on Cafe Pharoah.

Personally I agree with the choice of top three horses (Deep Impact, Almond Eye, Orfevre) in no particular order.
And there should be a large margin between the top three and the others.

Oisin Murphy has been booked to ride Chrono Genesis in the Arc.
She will be stabled at Pascal Bary in Chantilly.
I like her chance.

The son of Cesario has been doing super with his first three crops at stud. :D
I have a gut feel that Almond Eye will be bred back to the same sire next year!

Yeah!
I personally thought that she would get 10F without problem.
But she beat real-tough rivals today, becoming the first horse to win the Sapporo Kinen from the widest draw in 30 years!!

She must be pointed to the G1 Shuka Sho next.
And maybe one of the the Hong Kong G1s in December..... and... the Dubai World Cup and the BC Classic next year????????????????????
I really want to see the Kurofune filly run on the conventional dirt at some point!!

I think Japanese racing is proof positive that getting a distance is about training as much as pedigree. Also getting 2000 on turf that bounces you forward with every stride is different than getting 2000 on dirt which other than sealed wet track pretty much slows you down with every stride.

This will be a very interesting discussion :D :D :D and I do think that your reasoning is correct, even if I'm in an opinion that pedigree is more crucial than training for a horse to get a distance.
I always believe that turf racing and dirt racing test different types of stamina of a horse, not only because of the difference in surface but also in pace scenario.
That's the way I respect those horses who can run super on either surface.
Sodashi's sire Kurofune was that type, group winner of from 1600m to 2000m on turf and from 1600m to 2100m on dirt.

Kurofune had never sired group winner going more than 1800m before and that was the main reason why many fans doubted Sodashi's ability to get 2000m.
But It could be that King Kamehameha, as a broodmare sire, added some stamina to Sodashi from the bottom.
Blast Onepiece won the Arima Kinen 2500m and Daring Tact became a Triple Tiara winner including 2400m Oaks.
Also, Sodashi has Sunday Silence as her second dam's sire.

Marche Lorraine(JPN), 2016M. Orfevre(JPN) x Vite Marcher(JPN) by French Deputy(USA), will be aimed at the BC Distaff at Del Mar this year.

Like Loves Only You(JPN), who is slated to run in the BC Filly and Mare Turf, she is trained by Yoshito Yahagi.
She will be up against it. But it will be great to see a Japanese mare run in the BC Distaff for the first time!!! :D
