It looks like he was boxed in a bit midway through the stretch

He also jumped up at the break and spotted them a few lengths. But he never looked comfortable on the ground.

Along with having Saffron Beach, New Bay has definitely had a banner year. He stands for $37,500 now, wouldn’t be surprised to see that get to 60,000-75,000 in 2023. Nice to see “smaller” outfit like Ballylinch have a nice young stallion.

Baaeed's trainer said he didn't run fast enough.
But, I would like to know what happened in R4 to Inspiral as I thought the way Frankie was riding, he was going to get a hattrick.
Left at the gate.
Not sure if Franke was scratching his nose or the horse stepped back as the gates opened.
Gave away too much ground to make up.

I hated to see Verry Elleegant end her European stay (I presume) with such a 'meh' race.
I believe she's a much better racehorse; you don't win the Melbourne Cup and all those other G1s if you're a 'meh' racehorse. I also thought she looked thin, and like she wasn't thriving.
IMO, moving to the Northern Hemisphere confused her internal systems. All the seasons and the sun turned backwards and upside down as far her instincts and body were concerned.
Baaeed is a very good horse. Great? Maybe not.

I think the European, and especially French, way of running races simply was the opposite of what she needed. Races that crawl for the first 10 furlongs then sprint home for the last two make no use of her high cruising speed, which is better than her turn of foot. I also think that it is kind of moot to compare European middle distance horses to Australian ones. 90-100 rated handicappers and Group 3 10-12f horses from Europe are able to move down under and mop up Group 1 races. Some of their most consistent stars lately, Zaaki and Hartnell, did just that.
Obviously she is a star regardless, but in her races against probably the consistently highest rated foreign horse she met while in Australia, Addeyebb, he beat her three of the four times. She also couldn't beat State of Rest on her own turf. Besides beating Anthony Van Dyck (a less than star Derby winner) in the Caulfield Cup, her form is a bit below that of a Group 1 European middle distance horse. Combine that with being a 7 year old mare moving to another hemisphere and changing routine and it really isn't a shock she wasn't able to hit the board.
Still love her, though. And I can't really fault connections for at least trying her over here, as it was a brave and... experimental(?) route. I think it would make the most sense to give her a nice long break and then get a cover in to Frankel on SH time. A foal like that would stay all day!

Inspiral went into the stalls 2nd last and was in there no more than 10 secs Frankie said when the stalls opened she planted herself and didnt want to come out and that was game over,
Emily Upjohn remains in training and the Arc will be her number 1 target next season.
Charlie Appleby will send Adayar and Modern Games to the Breeders Cup.
John Gosden will send globe trotting Mishriff for his final race at the Breeders Cup before taking up stud duties
And it looks like Alpinsta will go for the Japan Cup.

King Charles is to sell around 12 of the late Queens horses as he cuts the Racing Operation.
They will be auctioned at the Tattersalls sales and further sales will follow.
Charles will reduce the number of horses, but said connections between the family and the horse racing industry will continue.

Connections of Saffron Beach have decided to send her for the Breeders Cup Fillies and Mares Turf
She scoped dirty after the Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket after beating only one home.
She will head to the December Mares Sales after this run

Adayar,s full brother Military Order got off the mark when scoring at Newmarket yesterday
Finishing 4th on debut over 7 fur he relished the extra furlong and stayed on really well beating his stable companion Ancient Rules and looks a nice prospect for next year
