its the humidity today that is the issue, the heat index is going to make it feel like 108. I don't know why they don't have the same warning for tomorrow and Monday but it expires tonight at 8pm. the temps and humidity are almost exactly the same. I imagine they cancel those as well.
Don't know why Monmouth is running, its supposed to be hotter there. And its almost that hot at Aqueduct. Might be quit a few cancelled cards today.

Anyone know what happened to her? She worked twice after the Azeri, the last on April 4th. She was supposed to be pointing to the Apple Blossom on April 13th but didn't run. Her digital cert. is at Ellis Park.

Another example of the disappearing horse with no explanation. I was wondering what happened too as I really liked her ( I root for all the Arrogates).

"Don't know why Monmouth is running, its supposed to be hotter there."
Monmouth racing is having a 'weather delay' at the moment. Maybe cooler heads are reconsidering how hot it is.
ETA: I guess not. The 5th race just went off, so they are still racing.

OOoooooh.......she worked at Santa Anita yesterday (5/25), 5 furlongs in 58.80 for a ranking on the day of 2/51! And that was recorded only 7 days after her come-back work off an injury!Missbeholder wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2024 5:13 pm
Santa Margarita is on Sunday(I originally typed Monday). Milady was renamed to the Adoration and hasn't been ran since 2018. I sent Missbeholder a pm to how she can contact McCarthy, I don't know if his stable will respond but I've had pretty good luck the times I've contacted trainers. I've keep it polite and simple.
IDK why I didn't think to look earlier. She injured herself. https://www.drf.com/news/glatt-not-worr ... d-gold-cup
"Sweet Azteca, winner of the Grade 1 Beholder Mile on March 9 at Santa Anita, returns to training this week after an untimely setback derailed plans for the Grade 1 Derby City Distaff on the Kentucky Derby undercard.
“She cut her knee and literally filleted it wide open” trainer Michael McCarthy said. “Horrible timing. She’s just back, she’ll start galloping here this week.”"
Thanks very much, Flanders, for the response plus the added info from the DRF article. I'm certainly sorry she got hurt, but It's quite encouraging to know that it isn't anything more serious. And thanks as well for the pm. I'll reach out to MM in the next couple of days and see what happens.
I did send a message to Michael McCarthy.....haven't heard back yet and maybe I won't. But this is very encouraging to me!

Sweet Azteca came back yesterday off of a 4-month layoff to win the GII Great Lady M Stakes (6.5 furlongs) at Los Al by 5 dominant lengths in track record time. And she kind of never looked like a loser in the process, pressing the GI LA Brea winner to the top of the lane and then drawing away easily in mid--stretch to win for fun.
She was 3/5 favorite 9n the board, so I didn't play the race, but I just love her and am really excited for her future. She's now got to be one of the early favorites for the BC F&M Sprint at Del Mar this coming November!

War Like Goddess (English Channel) came from way back to run down the field in the stretch of the 11-furlong G3 Robert G. Dick Memorial Stakes at Delaware.
She is such a game mare, with a withering turn-of-foot.
