Who is the N/A horse at #3 for steeplechase? Odd.

Oju Chosan over Nishino Daisy is a bit of a surprise since Nishino won in dominant fashion when they met head-to-head. Oju is obviously the sentimental pick though.

Yeah, that was a surprise to me, too, even if I was a big fan of the great Oju Chosan.
Nishino Daisy and his connections must be gutted.

This is not an article with a byline.
But I can see that it's written by someone who really follows the Japanese racing.
Very good read.

Japan buying up some nice broodmares--This one will fit into Japans Elite Breeding, Male Or female--- I will be watching carefully the progeny.

This Group One winner I thought was interesting. Retirement due to breathing issues.....it was thought she had a good chance for the Caufield Cup and even The Melborne Cup (I would have loved to see her in that one, NZ breds often win that race, she would have been a great longshot!)

Japan knows what to buy for their breeding programs---her broodmare sire (now deceased) was quite the champion.

Broodmares from Southern hemisphere have been doing very well in Japan recently.
The biggest success must have been Yankee Rose(AUS)(All American) who produced the champion 2yo filly Liberty Island(JPN)(Duramente) last year.
Cosmo Cielo(AUS)(Fusaichi Pegasus) produced the 2022 Hong Vase winner Win Marilyn(JPN)(Screen Hero), too.

Do you know which Japanese purchased Gypsy Goddess(NZ), MySaladDays?

According to this article https://www.justhorseracing.com.au/news ... pan/762060,
her trainer David Vandyke said; ‘She has been sold and will join our former top mare Yankee Rose as a broodmare in Japan'

So it sounds like she will go to Katsumi Yoshida's Northern Farm, as Yankee Rose is held by that farm.
But I can't be 100% certain about it yet.

Cafe Pharoah, Crown Pride, Geoglyph, Jun Light Bolt, Panthalassa and Vin de Garde will all go to the Saudi Cup!

tachyon, if one of them wins, are we likely to get special edition plushies? ;)

6 Japanese horses for the 14 horses field??? :o
Money talks!!!
I'm not so optimistic about their chances of winning this race.
But it's going to be interesting to see which type of Japanese horses, dirt horses or turf horses, can handle the dirt surface in Saudi. :D

Nakayama festa (ran 2nd in the Arc)

Dream Valentino(JPN) - Son of Devil is Due
