Sales Updates:
Hmm. Color me surprised. MRH seems to be taking a leaf out of the other racing partnership's activities. They have so far bought four broodmares. I speculate they're going to be breeding partnerships with an eye toward supporting Seize the Grey and (?)Authentic at stud.
Fasig-Tipton:
Joke Sisi(Practical Joke x Lucky Sisi)-Family of multiple G1/G2 winners in Chile
Keeneland November
Community Adjusted(Summer Front x Rimini Road)-Family of Cure the Blues and Brody's Cause
Natural Beauty(Blame x Chubby Star)-Family of Blamed, Get Lucky and of course Not for Love
Tiffany's Mo(Uncle Mo x Cruelmore)-Family of Money Multiplier, Intense Holiday, Her She Kisses
Sales Results:
Balletic sold for 80k in Keeneland November Sale (Hip1314). Buyer is Whisper Hill and Gainesway, which makes me wonder if they bought out for long term intention to breed to Seize the Grey
Guinevere sold for 90k in Keeneland November Sale (Hip1008). Buyer is RT Racing who bought out the partnership.
Rosie's Alibi sold for $725k at Fasig-Tipton Night of the Stars (Hip 183) to Blandford Bloodstock(EU agents)
ex-MRH horse(that was never offered) Ramatuelle(Justify x Raven's Lady) sold for 5.1 million to Coolmore

Mandy Pope said they were going to be buying mares for Charge It and Tapit Trice so maybe she is going to one of them?Honor Code wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2024 7:31 pm

I just saw someone propose that a retirement party be held for Seize the grey at Gainesway. It'd be nice if mrh hosted a retirement event but I don't think Gainesway is the right venue. Gainesway is still first and foremost a working breeding farm..I don't think they want to be overrun with mrh peeps.
I know they hosted an open house recently for breeders to inspect the new stallions including Seize the Grey and tapit trice. From the pics posted to the group..it looks like multiple mrh peeps showed up to say hi to Seize the Grey..my impression was open houses this time of year is geared more towards breeders looking to firm up their breeding plans for next year

I think the mares were mainly bought for Seize the grey. They mentioned in an update buying mares to breed to him. Imo, Authentic doesn't exactly need the support. He's been at stud a couple years now and seems to be well supported still with maresHonor Code wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2024 7:31 pm Sales Updates:

Not only that but the way that everyone acted towards that poor photographer who took an open house photo of STG that they didnt think was perfect... I wouldnt want them on my farm. It left a really gross taste in my mouth. People are starting to approach Chromies catagory (or are already there)TapitsGal wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2024 5:28 pm I just saw someone propose that a retirement party be held for Seize the grey at Gainesway. Yeah..I felt like saying "people these ARENT meant to be professional conformation photos. They're from photographers but not THE official Pic gainesway will use" some people were pointing that out and were largely being ignored while everyone went on criticizing. Then people were complaining that seize the grey looked sad or confused when imo(and according to people who saw him in person) he just looked asleep..CoronadosQuest wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 11:50 amNot only that but the way that everyone acted towards that poor photographer who took an open house photo of STG that they didnt think was perfect... Someone even name dropped the photographer Gainesway hires for official conformation shots and said these are NOT her pics. I agree with you that people were approaching Chromie levels of craziness. I know when Lukas had Seize the Grey, mrh microshare people who had backstretch access would use their credentials to show up unannounced at Lukas barn and ask to see the horse. Because Lukas obliged and didn't complain to them and ask them to leave people basically were like "we don't care that mrh says we aren't allowed to do this..Lukas doesn't have a problem with it so we're OK to be here".
Lukas has been pretty open about how he originally hesitated to take on Seize the Grey because he DIDN'T want to be dealing with tons of microshare owners. He only agreed to take Grey on when Michael behrens said he'd be dealing with a couple mrh employees and not tons of people
