Since he’s on stall refinement anyway, being in a familiar place is preferable. Especially if a nice blonde lady is going to spontaneously come feed you treats. When my sciatica acts up, my wife brings me treats. Works like a charm. I just can’t figure out why she insists I stay in a stall.
Fair enough... and fair enough!

Bob likes to keep his big horses close. Although I hope I am wrong, I doubt he will return to racing. I think they are just keeping the door open a crack to see how he heals. As a stakes winning son of Arrogate I would foresee a retirement announcement in the Fall in time to get ready for the breeding season. I can’t think of a single stakes winner with a condylar fracture and reparative surgery that returned to racing recently. Maybe there are some?

I just can't imagine returning him to racing and forcing all of us to hold our breath for a minute thirty six seconds.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Isn’t this the same injury that Mastery suffered? They waited a bit before announcing he was done and I think it was already announced he was going to Claiborne. At any rate, Bob would certainly have to train him differently, at least for awhile. I agree though, SW Arrogates are going to become fewer and far between and eventually all in the shed if intact.

Extra Anejo returned for his first start since the Haskell last year in an easy win at CD. Hasn't been very sound thus far in his career but hopefully he is over his issues. He is definitely talented.

Extra Anejo, blast from the past! Isn't there science that a broken bone heals stronger? (Yes, Mastery had the same injury, I happened to be there,/9 Not sure I want to test the theory with my two surgically repaired wrists. For the second one the surgeon said we can try to just cast it in an over the elbow cast for 6 weeks, but the chip might come loose. . .or we do surgery and you have a short cast for 3 weeks. As it happened I woke up with not a short cast, but a splint--soft wrap, fingers free, piece of cake. But I try to tell myself, if you start to fall, DON'T PUT YOUR HAND OUT!
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

I think there probably are. The thing is, almost everyone keeps everything so quiet. Horses just disappear for alongtime before resurfacing from "issues" or a "minor injury". We don't know what was wrong with them or if they had surgery or anything really.

I have trouble remembering names at my advance age.
But if you told me he was 7 horse, I could tell you if I had the exacta.

Skelly's tendency to break slowly proves his undoing in the Aristides... run down late by Closethegame Sugar after setting a 5/8ths fraction of :55.91. Can't remember ever seeing a sub-56 5f on dirt.

EDIT: Mitole did it once, and I'm sure it's happened other times. Just wild fractions to set after having to rush up off a poor break.

That poor horse. They need to pick a trainer and stick with them. They also need to accept that he isn't a grade 1 horse at this point in his career. He was last November but he isn't now for whatever reason. And I love the horse
