A Street Boss colt named Toothless Wonder ran in the 2nd race at Santa Anita today, a MSW for two-year-olds.

According to Doug O'neill's FB page the colt is part owned by a pro hockey player. Might help explain the name

I remember thinking before the Derby how lucky it was that almost all the runners had names that would not look embarrassing on a Derby tumbler.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

Want to get this thread up and running again, since names are so important to me (even the bad ones).

Swamp Rat (Hat Trick x R Smarty Pants) Just finished second in the Skidmore Stakes.

Bloodletting (Idiot Proof x Advantage Player) A name I think of when people say "bad name".

Conquest Corn Dog (Northern Afleet x My Favorite Tune) Wanted to buy her from their dispersal just so I could rename her. Too good of a pedigree for a name like that. Really no horse should be named this.

A man named Brian Hilliard apparently.

This name evokes a strong, angry emotion.

I'm guessing you didn't care much then for Caixa Eletronica. As bad as some are, they're just stage names. Most go by more affectionate monnikers in
their barns.

Caixa is fine, this one just bothers me because the "name" is essentially a big abbreviation (not a word or whatever).

I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

There are always some horrible names in Hong Kong mostly due to translation issues (and I will post more as their season starts next week) but the worst in HK has to be the gelding named MONICA
Ask me any questions you have about New Zealand and Australia racing

My Little Fat Boy sounds like a farm nickname for a chubby colt...and it somehow made it to the Registry.

Reminds me of a couple of cheap NY-breds I saw run in the early '90s -- Dream Lotto and Pony Boy's Lotto. That owner must have thought of them as money machines on four legs, too. Dream Lotto did win 8 races, but all were at Finger Lakes and Mountaineer pre-slots, lifetime earnings $35,000. Pony Boy retired 0-for-10, never hitting the board. All in all, more like a nice scratch ticket score than a Lotto win -- and it took seven years for that money to accumulate!
