There's already people complaining about this. Saying if he can't do racing "because he's a bleeder" than it's contradictory he's being placed in an eventing home when eventing is grueling too. Personally I'll leave those decisions to the people who work with Tufnel closely, know him best and the person taking him home

Meant to comment on Tufnel too. I’m glad he’s retired and moving on to something different. At least he’s given a chance, unlike a lot of others.

And also newsworthy, Classic Cut won his return race at Lone Star. Standby for further updates.

In response to the person complaining about tufnels new career. Mrh responded and was very gracious and provided a very good explanation. They explained what he's suitable for(lower level eventing) and explained the background of the person taking him and her experience level. They also explained she's very knowledgeable about rehabbing tbs from various ailments AND mrh said they'd be working closely with the new owner to monitor tufnel. Mrh was very patient and provided excellent info. The person they responded to STILL basically was like I don't trust this decision. And what happens if the new owner sells the horse and he ends up in a bad situation?

Mrh so far has proven to have an excellent record in placing horses into aftercare situations. I see no reason not to trust them

Low level eventing ( beginner novice, , novice) should be well within the capabilities of an ex-racing TB who is sound and has any breathing issues under control. The jumps are relatively low, the dressage tests very basic, the time limits are generous. I wish him the best of luck in his new career with his new partner.

I wish him the best of luck too and I'm excited to follow along on his new path. As for the people who complain, they are always free to contact mrh and offer to take the horses in. Mrh has worked with other shareholders to connect them with the aftercare groups and such so they could do just that. If they don't take that step and just continue to complain..that's on them

I was happy to see Classic Cut win again. I had such high hopes for him when I bought into him!

Ella(simply enchanting..the phil d'amato barn calls her ella) ran 11th today after drawing into this race this morning. Phil d'amato feels the humidity may have got to her

Tufnel has arrived at the farm of the person who will retrain him. The OP who commented that they didn't think he's being placed into a suitable second career updated their post saying they'd received a phone call that he'd arrived at the farm. They seemed shocked that he was trailered over "as they were making the original post"

Yes..i was thrilled he won. He may have found a track he can be successful at. As predicted ppl were complaining "mrh gave up on him too soon". But his new connections seem to love him

Didn't they pay $50,000 to claim him? Winning a $14,000 MSW can't be what they hoped for. But maybe he'll move on, I was an owner and had high hopes for him.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.
