Several runners from the Chancer McPatrick race faced off in the 6th at Saratoga, and they all ran poorly

I loved Spurgeon going in and I love him even more now - he ran a very good second to the promising Filoso. Spurgeon is my Derby horse - Kenny didn’t tighten him for this race, and yet he still closed very well, with long, powerful strides. He was much further back than in his debut, but I think it’s because he nearly stumbled out of the gate and Kendrick didn’t push him

Fractions were slow. I doubt the race will get some big Beyer, but I think the first two are good horses.

What, you raised him? Aww….What was he like?

He grew up to be a really beautiful colt 😍😍😍

**Beyer for the race was a very solid 76; Spurgeon got a 70

Yes he was born at the farm I work at, so I did help take care of him although he wasn’t born on my shift. Now he did turn into somewhat of a jerk after getting weaned, but he was never vicious. Just would really let you know when he didn’t like certain things haha. I remember the farm manager thought it was funny that he was the mare’s best looking foal with a cheaper stud fee than her other two foals.

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Sounds like he had a mind of his own, lol

The thing is, I’m not surprised. HAP is a magnificent looking horse - my jaw dropped when I saw him make his debut at Santa Anita. I think he’s going to surprise people -maybe he already has

Thank you for sharing!

Bullard just closed from last to first to break his maiden in the 1st at Del Mar on debut. He even wove through traffic. I was pretty impressed by this son of Gun Runner!

Under Who's Radar wins the $1 mil National Thoroughbred League Juvenile Sprint S.

there is an objection against the winner by runner up Chasing Liberty

Under Who's Radar was DQed to 2nd after veering out. Chasing Liberty was placed first. I'm sort of surprised because Ive seen way worse veering not be taken down.

When Under Who's Radar suddenly swerved out (several lanes) into Chasing Liberty, that forced CL to veer away from the threat. CL still tried to catch UWR after that, so I am actually pleased that the stewards acknowledged the foul.

Ferocious is such a handsome horse and looks fabulous in the paddock for the Hopeful.

I was in the paddock right next to him and OMG I can see how he sold for that much money. Absolutely stunning. Incentive Pay also gorgeous, and I haven’t seen Fierceness in person but I’m pretty sure Mentee is his clone. Tiny and adorable.

Chancer McPatrick holds off a very green Ferocious to win the Hopeful. Ferocious looked done and then he decided he didnt like Chancer McPatrick on his outside and kicked in again

Tough to see the race from the ground but I think the top two are both nice horses. Patrick is small but very correct, strikes me as a router. Some nice horses in there I think!

Just got to watch the race, keep an eye on that fourth-place finisher.
