Agree- glad there is extra vet scrutiny but hope this is the last of the defections!

Yet another scratch - Hit the Road (ironically) for the Turf Mile.

Sorry for the connections, esp. the Blackers. When Dan has horses running, and Christina is on-air, it is always fun to watch her enthusiasm.

Second dirt race had Sadler finishing 1-2 with the two favorites well-clear of the rest; both were just off the pace. Still very difficult to judge, but given the way those fillies bunched up after that :45 2/5 half I think it's safe to say this track, biased or not, is very fast.

The 3rd race, the 7-furlong Golden State Juvenile Fillies, was a Mr. Big exacta, as Big Switch and Big Novel go 1-2 as much the best in this BC undercard race.
IMO, Mr. Big is doing so well in California that I wonder if he will get called up to the Kentucky big leagues sometime.

I would say no. He is going to be 19 in January and has 1 G3SW. He is doing fine as a regional sire in California. The farm he stood at in 2021 didn't turn in his report of mares bred in time for him to make the list. Last year his mares bred was in the 30s, so he isn't even popular in California.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 05, 2021 4:02 pm The 3rd race, the 7-furlong Golden State Juvenile Fillies, was a Mr. Big exacta, as Big Switch and Big Novel go 1-2 as much the best in this BC undercard race.

Nineteen? Already?
Wow...didn't realize he was that old. Even one of the TVG analysts mentioned him as "the young California sire" after his two fillies ran 1-2..

Finneus won the third dirt race closing; if anything, it looks like you might want to be a bit wide on the turn, but there haven't been any routes to judge today.
Averly Jane's odds are pretty great if you think she's vulnerable. Best of luck and safe trips today!

I am pleased to see that the BC races are still being shown on TVG. Their commentary has more background and pedigree analysis than NBCSN. Also less celebrity fluff.

She looked great! It's always nice to see Stonestreet win a big race, especially with a filly. You know they'll be treated like queens.
