Frankel went 1 -3 and Sea The Stars sired the 2nd. Two of my all-time favorites, so I’m happy about that.

I hope Adayar has better post-Derby succes than Masar, Godolphin’s last Derby winner.

I’m left feeling increasingly disappointed by the Derby, 12 in the field and again it was the owner/trainer filling the most slots who managed the winner.
We’ve been crying out for a great derby winner since Sea The Stars, the last 5 renewals have been dire and are a far cry from the race at its peak. It’s probably linked to the lack of indicative preps, most of these horses coming in off a few lifetime runs and a lot of yard hype. My favourite race is always the Guineas, it just always brings out class winners. Though, this is most likely due to milers being the most sought after. I hope the middle distance colts get an injection of class sometime soon, or the race will become a relic of past glory like the ascot gold cup.
Loved seeing Pyledriver win, I’ve back him in every race since his 4th start, I gave up a little after his shenanigans last start out and I shouldn’t have lost faith in the little terrier. I don’t think he’ll be in the double digits again now he’s a G1 winner.

Adayar was so impressive and Adam Kirby is the nicest man.
And of course so happy for the team at Juddmonte and great horse himself, Frankel <3
I wonder if it would have been different if Mohaafeth had run. I'm on nights the week of Royal Ascot so I'm bound to sleep through it
A little bit gutted for John Leeper but he never looked the right shape for a run round Epsom but would have been nice for the Dunlops.

Been a lovely couple of days for the jocks, Adam Kirby and Martin Dwyer and a little bit of Frankie magic.

Also... does anyone else wonder how Saeed Bin Suroor still has a job? Charlie Appleby delivers every day of the week... Bin Suroor last won a G1 in England/Ireland in 2013.

Not to mention the multiple times he has gone to the press to say how the horses Godolphin sends him aren’t nice enough... aka they arent 3 year olds+ in training that were started other trainers

There’s more to the story: Oisin Murphy had the ride on Adayar, but was bumped in favor of Kirby when he became available. Murphy was left without a ride.

To be fair, if I had to choose between Frankie and Kirby for my Derby horse, I’d go with Frankie.

I never understood the Mogul hype - always going off at such short odds? He and Japan are making a telephone directory with their form.

My theory is that Bin Suroor has some serious dirt on Godolphin/Darley. I don't understand how else the man manages to keep his job, he had 39 winners last year (compared to 80+ the years before) and his horses seem to only come into themselves in Dubai. And his constant whinging about how Appleby stole his job (not in so many words).

RE John Leeper and Frankie, I think you're right. Snow Fairy had a big day under Frankie in the Irish Champion so I can understand wanting to reminisce when Frankie became available. And it worked out well for Kirby and Murphy has plenty of big days in his future. I have a lot of respect for Cristina Patino, naming the colt John Leeper was a lovely gesture.

SMB certainly has travelled an unconventional route for a Ballydoyle colt but he's danced every dance, hopefully we'll see him this side of the channel soon
