West Omaha likely to skip Kentucky Oaks and go to the Black-Eyed Susan; could change though, per Cox.

Good. She’s a nice filly, and probably wasn’t going to win. A better choice for her.stelladaniella wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2024 2:34 am West Omaha likely to skip Kentucky Oaks and go to the Black-Eyed Susan; could change though, per Cox.

Leslie's Rose wins the Ashland over Just F Y I and Impel. Candied was 4th. I think this set Just FYI up nicely for the Oaks, IMO! Leslie's Rose was sorta wandering all over the track at the end.

Anytime I feel bad about where I am in life, I just take a glance at how Danniwolfe acts and think to myself, you know what, you're fine kid.
Side note, we are going to Keeneland tomorrow, hopefully in time to see Olive!

Have fun! I hope the weather favors you, and all the beautiful bushes behind the track edge are in bloom.

Sunny and about as nice as it can be today; not everything in bloom quite yet but we're def getting there. Olive was alert and didn't seem to mind parading in front of fans. Ears pricked most of the time and calmly walking next to her handler. What a champ. J Stewart is also super kind, open and professional.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2024 4:33 am Have fun! Professional photo from this AM, as I'm going through mine, they are hardly as good.

Where's My Ring breaks her maiden in the Gazelle by quite a bit and Regulatory Risk runs 2nd. Which makes me wonder just how good Kinza really is?

Alva Starr(Lord Nelson) won the Madison. I think that's his first grade 1 winner?

Nothing Like You upsets the Santa Anita Oaks by a lot over Kinza. Corposo was 3rd.

I’m sure if it had been less people around they would have let us pet her but there were tons. Stewart did speak with fans and other people, not just the media. Super cool of him. Asked us if we have name suggestions for Olives foal; I said Olive You (sounds like Ilove you) and he chuckled.

Stewart told us that when they led her through the paddock, towards the track and got to the tunnel, Olive started pulling to go into the tunnel. She was telling them “I know you’re new here, but we’re supposed to be going this way.”stelladaniella wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2024 9:50 pmI’m sure if it had been less people around they would have let us pet her but there were tons. That's cute. <3
Retired racehorses don't always understand the "retired" part, and keep expecting to continue their racing routine.
Iirc, it took a while for Lava Man to settle down into his stable pony role. Got excited every time he set foot on the track.
