other than that I was really chuffed for Leontes to get his winner 8-)
JRA announced that Hapi (just) had a lameness in his right front leg.
I guess that he is okay.

via twitter, because i thought durezza looked fantastic in the walking ring before the tenno sho - apparently he suffered from heat stroke & is off for a rest

Thanks for the update regarding Durezza. He really is much better than what he showed, and now we know why.

Misfortunes seldom come singly...

Carrot Club announced today that Durezza had a bone chip in his right front leg and it would take more than three months for recovery.

Sunday Racing announced today that champion Liberty Island developed a slight sesamoidean desmitis in her right front leg and she would prepare for her comeback in Autumn.

Kate Hunter's tweet was amusing!!

And T O Saint Denis is going to be ''the first Japanese trainee to ever run on the Oaks/Derby undercard''.
I guess that he will be a non-factor in the G2.
But I hope that he will just enjoy racing at Churchill Downs! :D
T O Saint Denis(JPN)(Kitasan Black) finished 2nd under Ryusei Sakai in the G2 Alysheba to earn his first black-type. :o   :D
Like T O Saint Denis(JPN)(Copano Rickey) and Forever Young(JPN)(Real Steel), he is a great-grandson of Sunday Silence(USA).

awww no liberty island :( but good that she's getting a rest, and lucky for durezza that they discovered it was more than just ("just") heat stroke, hope he will be able to come back as well.

I liked this BH report. :D
I thought it would be Interesting read to know more about the racing community and the fans in Japan that are interested in the Kentucky derby.

''JRA's Green Channel Brings Derby to Japanese Race Fans''
-- The Green Channel has 219,000 subscribers to its TV channel and 155,000 online --

https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing ... -race-fans
Despite it being a pay channel, the JRA makes some of the Green Channel's racing programming free to watch. This would include its Derby coverage. More than 4.5 million households will have the ability to watch this year's Kentucky Derby via satellite.

Champions Ascoli Piceno and Jantar Mantar must be too strong.
But I would like to play with the longshots Di Speranza and Logi Leon here.

Lemaire is my favorite jockey but his riding on Ascoli Piceno was reckless, this was cringe :?

The interesting thing about Jantar Mantar is he really has a dirt pedigree. But he certainly had found his niche at a mile on the lawn.

Jantar Mantar(JPN)(Palace Malice) has been assigned 118 by the JRA handicapper, which is the highest-ever rating for a NHK Mile Cup winner!! 8-)
Both NHK Mile Cup winners King Kamehameha(JPN)(Kingmambo) and Schenell Meister(GER)(Kingman) had been rated 117.
