Taptowne had his schedule thrown off because of the weather at Oaklawn Park, missing last weekend's Essex H., but is now on target for the Grade 3, $200,000 Razorback H. on March 15 after working five furlongs in 1:01 1/5 over the track's fast dirt on Thursday with assistant Charlie Rosier aboad. "He worked really well," trainer Tim Glyshaw said. "He was back on the bridle. Two works back he was kind of lack luster. He galloped out pretty strong. He'll have two more works and then be ready for the Razorback." When Taptowne, second in the 2013 Oaklawn H. (G2), missed a key work leading into the Essex, Glyshaw elected to call an audible and brought one of his Fair Ground-based runners, Voodoo Storm (Storm Cat), in for the race and the former claimer finished third. "I wish we could have run Taptowne," Glyshaw remarked. "I think he could have won the race because I know he's better than the other horse, who I thought ran well."

Wink at the Girls has got to be one of the soundest, hard-knocking geldings out there.
He has run without more than a couple months between races since the start of his 3-year-old season.
He won for the 18th time yesterday in an optional claiming race.

TRES BORRACHOS, EIGHTH: Owner George Hicker confirmed Sunday night that Tres Borrachos has retired from racing after his run in The Mile. An 8-year-old gelding by Ecton Park, Tres Borrachos retired with a 5-6-7 record in 48 starts and $1,030,973 in purse earnings
WTF is he doing working out again? Did he come out of retirement?

Roustabout Racing Stables and Dwight Fugate's Valid Commander (Hesabull) scored in his stakes debut by a length in Saturday's $75,000 Nodouble Breeders' S. for state-breds at Oaklawn Park. Sent off as the 8-1 fourth choice, the Doug Anderson charge returned $18.20 to his supporters for the win. The four-year-old gelding gained command inside the final furlong and held on late for the victory. He covered six furlongs over the fast main track in 1:10 4/5 with Alex Canchari aboard. The bay was exiting an allowance victory over this track just last month and now has $109,540 in career earnings from a 16-5-0-3 line.

Powerful is now isted in equibase as a gelding, so I guess he belings in this thread. 1.4 million dollar Keeneland September purchase AP Indy x Malka (Malka is half to Super Charger the dam of Super Saver). I think this guy was purchased as a stallion prospect, so ouch.
