I didn’t know where to put this …Todd paying a visit to two of his former champs, Rags and Mo
Rags is still beautiful, and underrated. Her Belmont still gives me chills

Rags looks so sweet in those pics. Wonder if old age has made her kinder.

Was she not a sweet filly? I do recall long ago that she actually acted like a colt ….CoronadosQuest wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 5:39 pm Rags looks so sweet in those pics. Wonder if old age has made her kinder.

me too! As long as I have been watching horse racing, I have never to this day, seen Todd Pletcher get emotional over a horse winning a race, as he did when Rags won the Belmont!!! That was a momentous race-- I mean she beat Curlin for goodness sakes- I think she is underrated!!!! love her!!!

Rags vs Curlin is my favorite race I’ve ever seen in person, and that counts American Pharoah and Zenyatta. She shut up so many jerks in the stands that day, and it was absolutely special to watch. Pletcher’s first TC win of any variety, right? So definitely an emotional event, but great to see it revisited. Thanks for posting it, and for the reminder!

Oh wow, you were there?! I can’t even imagine how incredible an experience that was - the stands must have shook!Tessablue wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 12:48 am Rags vs Curlin is my favorite race I’ve ever seen in person, and that counts American Pharoah and Zenyatta. Yep, first TC win. Seeing him pump his fist so excitedly makes me so happy, lol
For years I kept an envelope full of articles on the race, only getting rid of them when I moved 2 years ago
You’re very welcome!
Here’s the race - what a call!

Awesome to see Curlin and Rags emerging from the group of horses giving everything they had to give
and the courageous beautiful filly won that race!!!!!! I am sure when Todd saw Rags stumble he probably thought the race could be over for her---- One of the best races in horse racing history!
