Making Junior sprint with him afterwards too, lol. So happy for this horse and for Mott, who has developed him beautifully. JCGC and then Classic?

Fox just replayed that incident -- Arthur ducked out and dumped Junior, who landed on his feet and refused to let go of the reins. Ran alongside the grey colt while slowing him until the outrider reached them. Then Junior cowboyed himself back onto Arthur. :D

Arthur was impressive, but I have doubts that he will be able to repeat that run at 10 furlongs. They were starting to close on him a bit at the wire, and he will face some real 10-furlong horses in the Classic.

At first I thought he jumped off because something was wrong with the horse-so glad it was just a spook. Great athleticism, strength and balance by Junior Alvarado to stay on his feet, not let go of the reins and then to be able to hoist himself back up onto the horse from the ground with no assistance. Great race by Arthur!

He ran a gigantic race with a huge speed figure going 10f last out, and they were closing in on him because he set a fast pace and ran the other speed off their feet. He may have to prove he can lay off the speed a little, but he definitely has plenty of stamina.

A great reminder of just how athletic jockeys are! Very grateful that he was able to keep the horse from running off.

I see that Arthur's Ride is very lightly raced, any reason for that?

He is beautiful, almost white 😍

Is Brightwork okay after flipping in the paddock?

Sure but they didn't disclose the reason last year. When asked about him Mott refused to comment just said he'd be out for the rest of the year. So obviously some type of injury.

Arthur's Ride is the real deal. And you already know he can get the mile and a quarter.

Also chuffed that Emery got second in the Test. Hoping there's a grade I out there with her name on it.

Nice win, glad to see Mott get a G1 win with Arthur’s Ride.

Post Time tried so hard, might be too long for him.

Charge It needs an easier race.

From a gambling perspective it's a day NYRA hopes to move past and put in the rear view mirror as quickly as possible.

Cancelling races, cancelling horizontal wagers, all in all a PR nightmare.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

110 Beyer and ~130 Timeform for Arthur's Ride. That was a serious effort.

He also must have been the most adorable horse in the race! See here: https://x.com/singmysongbird/status/1819887242136998083

Oh he’s so adorable …and not only that, it took his daddy years to get that stunning marble-like white

And he has been that way for a while! I saw him at 2 and he was pretty much the same color. No idea why he greyed out so quick, but he looks like a unicorn out there.

Funny that this was his first start in a stakes, because he's always been competing against great company. I remember liking Disarm for the Derby last year because he'd beaten this horse, and somehow this is the third time he has finished one place ahead of Crupi! Bloodhorse says he's had "foot and soft tissue" problems in the past, but hopefully those are behind him and we are treated to a great rest of the year.
