So if Seize The Grey wins it, do they regret not entering him in the derby?

As his trainer will tell you, connections win 0% of the races they don’t enter.Palace Malice wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 6:14 pm So if Seize The Grey wins it, do they regret not entering him in the derby?

I don't think we would have got in though, if I remember correctly...Palace Malice wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 6:14 pm So if Seize The Grey wins it, do they regret not entering him in the derby?

I'm certain that there are those with a better memory than I, but for my two bucks this weekend had it all.
For a Belmont without a triple crown on the line, the crowd looked fantastic, the betting was good from the fans and the house side.
What's not to like?
I like the sound of the Belmont at Saratoga!!!
And the weatherman is a racing fan!
How often do we get to see a new wrinkle in American racing that's a win-win?

I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

It was a fantastic event, and NYRA should be proud of the way they made the best of this Belmont-free Belmont. Great racing, great product, and it looks like they were rewarded with a huge handle and a happy crowd. The broadcast was great, too--I'll take some audio issues if it means listening to people who genuinely care about the horses and the sport. Great stuff, hope to be there next year!

You know an event is popular when people were already lined up to get in at 5am.

Sea Hero had a real important visitor this past weekend. They shipped the Secretariat paddock statue from Belmont Park to the Spa for the big race day! I just ran across this picture on Facebook today, so I didn't know that they had done that! I assume that, since Belmont won't be conducting operations for another year+, it will probably remain there until Big Sandy reopens. Pretty Cool!

she's been suspended. i had to report a bunch of tweets today because she kept wishing death on Fierceness' full brother but i think a bunch of people reported because in one of the tweets she had like 7 people calling her out.brunanas wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 4:05 pmwell i think there's a chance. i wasn't really confident they'd even suspend her to begin with but i reported like 15+ tweets and all of them came back as actual violations of the rules, the report stated she had to delete all of them so she could use her account again and if the behavior continued they'd take stronger measures. and it did continue... literally on the same day she got her account back. she's gonna keep creating accounts, it's just a matter of finding them (aka... just find a poster who is constantly wishing horses die and has the literacy of a 5 year old) and mass reporting it's insane she doesn't ever stop. like i used to think she was just a troll but i have since come to the conclusion she has some type of severe mental issue.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 3:58 pm IIRC, that poster was giving us fairly 'normal' stuff but, after a couple of days of that, the posts would start adding offensive stuff. Deliberately tried to sneak in the bad stuff mixed in with the ordinary. May have kept the moderator thinking that maybe the poster had learned to rein it in....but that didn't happen. I'm grateful that Kurenai finally got fed up.
Is there really any hope that Twitter would ban them since it has become the Wild West X?
and also Twitter also IP bans now, so the witch had been defeated. she can no longer make accounts.
i like plushies. a lot.

Finally watched this race - Book ‘em Danno looks like he paddles in the left front but I can’t find a head on shot, it looks inefficient. Prince of Monaco on the other hand barely lifts his knees (I know there is a name for that), has a quick, choppy, low stride in the stretch.Tessablue wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 3:13 pm Tough race--I feel like Book 'em Danno is being overbet based on his race against a B-effort Forever Young, but he also can't be ignored. Most of this field could win, but I kind of like Be You on the cutback, and Reasoned Analysis at 30-1 is kind of irresistible.

Book ‘em Danno definitely does, I just watched the head on at Twinspires. Prince of Monaco, the term you are looking for is daisy-clipper.Izvestia wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2024 9:38 amFinally watched this race - Book ‘em Danno looks like he paddles in the left front but I can’t find a head on shot, it looks inefficient. Flanders—battleplan I hardly knew ye—beat me to it. I always thought Daisy Clipper sounded more like something that should be in the America’s Cup as opposed to America’s Day of Racing. Del Mar offers up the Daisycutter for turf sprinters every summer. Go figure, in San Diego Daisy Clipper sounds far more appropriate.Izvestia wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2024 9:41 amDaisy clipper!
