Thought I'd start the new thread (do not even want to think about all that was lost) with something fun.
Wonderful is a VEN-bred 3yo daughter of Smarty out of an Indygo Shiner mare. She broke her maiden by ~10 lengths on debut at La Rinconada in Venezuela back on Sept. 1 in her debut. Our good friend Adieu found the video. And as Adieu pointed out this video has gotten a lot of views, considering. So there must be a bit of buzz about her down there.

Ugh.
Res Judicata gets another shot at a GS race -- the Gallant Bob at Parx -- and draws the inside post in a field of 14.

5yo Noble Jewelry won a stakes at Hanshin in Japan overnight. BTW, she's a millionaire now.

Concealed Identity is entered in the Laurel Turf Cup Stakes on Saturday. 1 1/2 miles on turf.
Indian Jones is the first AE for that race -- and given his performance in the Greenwood -- 2nd by a nose -- he could be a threat if he gets in.

Now has a record of 5:3-1-0, $133,820.
BTW, he's a full brother to Cosmo Pirate, Smarty's first runner in Japan.

I just watched the replay. That was a gutsy performance by Crackerjack Jones. I also thought the jockey did a nice job on him.

Francois just won "smartly" at Arlington. 6 or 7 lengths, I'd say.

CJ's dam is out of the G1 winning Key Phrase. She's a full sister to Zing, dam of Half Ours, et al..
Nicely bred Smarty. Too bad he's a gelding. He's talented, and would've made a nice regional sire. I want to see where he pops up next

8 1/2 lengths! And Superstardom eked out a win at Indiana Downs. And dear old Run Smart One snatched himself a 3rd-place finish at Calder.

Res Judicata scratched from the Gallant Bob at Parx (horrible post position); presumably will run tonight in the Researcher at Charles Town.

Concealed Identity scratched from his stakes at Laurel. And Indian Jones did not make the field.

Ugh. Terrible trip for Res Judicata. He was in good shape early, but almost slid around the turn on a very sloppy track. Got a bit trapped, then had to steady as a horse falling back through the field ended up in front of him. Think he threw in the towel at that point.

That horse that caused him to steady was
Whiskey Romeo, the other horse I was rooting for (he's in my virtual stable), and he is the only horse that finished behind
Res Judicata. I hope both horses come out of it okay!

Nice recent photo of Smarty down Uruguay way. Personally, I think he's matured into a good-looking horse (love the color of his hair).
