Time to restart the discussion.
On Saturday at Belmont Park
For the Phipps Stable ...
Scam (2010 colt, Giant's Causeway x Smuggler) broke his maiden
Mischieviously (2011 colt, Indian Charlie x Illicit) ran fourth in a MSW
For Janney ...
Cloture (2010 filly, Political Force x Impressionism) was third in a MSW
For Emory Hamilton ...
Hungry Island ran a very good second in the GIII Nobel Damsel
I hope Cladan returns. I appreciate her information and insights into the stable.

Thanks Pan Zareta. I was going to post something, but wasn’t sure where to put it. Didn’t get to see the races, so just going by the charts.
Very happy about Scam’s win. Of course was hoping for better results from Mischieviously, but does sound like he was fanned very wide and was making up ground at the end.
The other one I was hoping for better results was Sabbatical who ran on Friday. Sounds like she was far back and had a mild rally, but still finished 7th – darn…
I agree - so hope Cladan returns as pretty much check daily for news...

I hope everyone who has contributed to this thread comes back on, especially Cladan. Nice maiden win by Scam. Reflecting got some black type in finishing a good second in stakes at PARX. Point of Entry had his first official workout - I wonder if he has enough time to make it to the Breeder's Cup. Orb, Imagining, and Reload had good workouts at Fair Hill, Orb looks ready for Jockey Club Gold Cup at Belmont. Not sure where Imagining (Joe Hirsch turf Classic?) or Reload (some Stakes race at Keeneland) are going.

Results:
Sea Island - 9/19 - Belmont - Race 3 - Parlo Stakes - finished 3rd of 4.
Race Replay
the race was pretty much the same from start to finish. The pace setter and longest shot on the board was left to her own devices and was able to go wire to wire.

Overwhelming led, but faded and finished last.
Secretive finished 4th after going wide.
Hoping for better results tomorrow - go Abaco...

The owner of Service for Ten, an entrant in the DeFrancis Dash at Laurel today invited my family to join him for lunch, and to be in the paddock for saddling and hopefully the winner's circle despite his long shot status. As a bonus I get to see Abaco live in the Lady Baltimore Stakes where she appears a good fit. Really looking forward to the festivities.

Both ran really good races, but Abaco definitely should have won - she was caught inside and then had to check when trying to get between horses, and then had to go outside. She was flying at the end - really proud of her to get second...

The inside speed has been holding up so far at Belmont and it was a decent effort from Sea Island. Shug will try to find a similar spot to get the win but a return to the turf is also under consideration before the season closes.
It was great to see Abaco win some more blacktype but it was a tough loss. She was much the best but that's racing. Good that the mare is back to form and if she comes out of the race well we may see her run next in the Athenia or wait for another minor stakes.
Orb, Imagining and Hymn Book are all due to run in Graded Stakes on Saturday. Boisterous could also run. Reload is being trained for Keeneland.
Glad to see the thread has been resurrected and pleased that it's in the horse racing section, where it belongs. I hope everyone is well.

So glad you're back Cladan - I was really wondering what the thoughts were on Sea Island's race. Glad to see so many will be running on Saturday...

Puzzling had been working very well on the all weather at Fair Hill throughout the summer. Her subsequent disappointment at Saratoga has seen her revert back to the dirt in her works. The mare is due to run in a minor stakes at Presque Isle Downs on Thursday and will make her race debut on the artificial main track. Puzzling got her blacktype on and off track, so fingers crossed that she runs well.
Admiral Perry gets another chance in a stakes and will ship to Delaware on the same day. Hopefully the horse will hit the board for the Janney colors.
Caxambas Pass will cut back in distance coming off her maiden win. Hopefully the filly will settle better than in previous races and is due to run on wedesday.

Glad that you are back Cladan. As usual, Thanks for your insights. looking forward to this weekend. I saw that Point of Entry had his second work since his injury. Does he have a realistic chance of making to a big race this year?

Well, wonder who decided to move the thread here???
Darn about Caxambas Pass - sounds like she got hung out wide the entire triip and just tired...

Disappointing effort by Puzzling but a game effort by Air Support. If you saw the races on tv - did anyone notice that they mixed up the Janney and Phipps silks that they sent to Delaware Park and Presque Isle Downs? Rosie N. wore the Phipps colors with the Janney white cap on Puzzling while Air Support's jockey wore the Janney colors with the Phipps cherry cap
Hopefully some better results tomorrow.

Hymn Book looked good. Hoping Orb is ok - looked like he bobbled when checked at the top of the stretch. The Triple Crown just takes so much out of the 3yr. olds...

Data Link has been retired and I will miss rooting for him. But, since he has been, I'm very excited about the news that he'll stand at Claiborne. Always happy to see more Alydar bloodlines and now they have 4 - Arch, Blame, Data Link and Parading...

Is anyone else surprised to see Boisterous in the Keeneland sale?
