Aug 4 at Saratoga is the 8.5f- National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame (G2T) Stakes. Hopefully Snap Decision is pointed to that race. it's restricted to 3 year olds.Happy Endings wrote:Snap Decision won race #5 at Belmont today, an AOC for 3yos. They kept him closer to the pace this time, so he didn't have so much to do at the end. And he seemed to win it pretty easily. Maybe that is the spot where he needs to be... tracking the pace. And the pace was very moderate, so it might have been hard to make up more distance.

Sounds like a good option. I wonder where Rocketry will go next. He really got bumped around in his race yesterday. Was hoping he would eventually go to the Secretariat for 3yos at Arlington. He was facing older yesterday and did okay. He may need to be closer to the pace, too. So much can go wrong when coming from so far back. I think both of them have the talent to be stakes winners. Seems like they have backed off on Time to Travel. Seemed like they were rushing him into races on quick turn-arounds in the spring. He's a full brother to Hard Not To Like and I hope they show more patience with him going forward.MTO wrote:Aug 4 at Saratoga is the 8.5f- National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame (G2T) Stakes. I read a while back that Hard Spun was bred to a really good group of mares in 2013, which would be this year's 3yo crop. Seems like there are a number that are quite talented. Hope it turns out to be so.

Time to Travel is entered in an allowance race at Belmont on Sunday, July 9. Race #6. So they are finally showing some patience, but they putting him back on the grass after he posted his lowest speed number of any of his races and that was on the grass. At least John Valazquez is back on him.

Time to Travel finished last. Maybe now they will put him back on the dirt? Poor horse. Seems like he has been poorly managed.Happy Endings wrote:Time to Travel is entered in an allowance race at Belmont on Sunday, July 9. Race #6. Question. What year did Hard Spun ship to Japan for the northern hemisphere breeding season? I am trying to figure out when we will see a gap in American runners for him. I am thinking it was 2014, but am not sure. If that is correct, we won't see any 2yo runners for him this year.

ROCKETRY is entered in race #8, an allowance, at Saratoga this Friday. 1-3/8 miles on the turf. Same distance that he won that maiden race so smartly. Last race he got into some trouble in the stretch. Hoping for trouble free run this time. He has some talent I think. What is with Hard Spun getting so many long winded runners when some said he couldn't get 1 1/4 miles. I never agreed with that assessment. He finished 2nd in the KD and BCC in front of a lot of horses who did win at that distance. I think he would have, too, if he had not retired when he did. I am looking forward to this race as much as seeing TIMELINE in the Haskell.

I remember what TVG's Rich Perloff said years ago when Hard Spun first retired to stud. He was excited about the colt's future at stud and, as a son of Danzig, thought he would likely get runners on dirt and grass. He was prophetic, IMHO, as we have seen Hard Spun have success at stud all over the world.

Rocketry had an awesome win in race #8 at Saratoga this afternoon. 1 3/8 miles on the turf. His record is now 6-2-2-1. Another long-winded son for Hard Spun. And no DQ this time! Should also mention that he was running against older horses.
