That wasn't her maiden; she was the first to break her maiden in the states; I think that was her 2nd win in 6 starts. (3rd on debut, broke maiden in 2nd start; bad run in the Sorority, 3rd in the Frizette, 4th at Delta, and then this win.)

Margaret Drive broker her maiden in race 3 at Turfway today; in her previous 5 starts, she finished off the board one time.

Ask Neal, a maiden winner last out, finished 5th in today's 6th at Aqueduct.

Charles Chrome has been entered in the William Walker Stakes on the opening weekend of Churchill's spring meet.

It is a 5 1/2 furlong turf sprint. Charles Chrome is a winner on turf but put on a show when he won his dirt debut by 12 1/2 lengths in Indiana.

Chrome's kids have had a productive week in both hemispheres with Ocean California and Hotel California starting their racing careers in fine fashion down in Chile while Striking Chrome continues to show herself a very useful racehorse and California Martini finally found a race in which to finish first.

I am a bit shocked that the owners would part with the Downside Scenario filly for just 22K as she is probably worth more than that as a broodmare given the exploits of Mutasaabeq, and especially if he manages a Gr1W sometime in his career and it looks like the mare has an Uncle Mo colt next year which could add to the sheen of the family. Cool Cowboy also is there back in the family.

Especially when you consider he has 15 branches of the A4 female family on the broodmare side to go along with the 7 from California Chrome himself.

Incredible's dam also has 15 A4 branches, and her sire, Morning Raider is of course A4 in tail female.

Now if Bluebells 2018F ends up doing well, well then there might be a trend as this mare has 20 branches of the A4.

Second winner for California Chrome in Russia is a 2019 juvenile bay colt named CHROME BLAME (o/o SP Blame the Law, by Blame). The dam is half to G1P Blameitonthelaw and SW Bourbon Sense.

He was bred (he purchased the dam while she was carrying him) by Brereton Jones and sold for $9K at Keeneland November.

Cilla has been cross entered in both the Louisiana Legends Mademoiselle S. (dirt) and Soiree S. (turf) at Evangeline Downs on June 5.

At 9/5, Cilla is one of the favorites for the Soiree but she is 12-1 for the Mademoiselle.
