Pretty well done -- nothing that new.
Small mention of Res Judicata as one of Smarty's better current runners.
John Servis was interviewed as was Pat Chapman.
Servis was honest and said Smarty was a productive regional sire.
He said Smarty babies try hard on any surface.
Pat Chapman said he needs better mares to shine;
(I'm sure it's available on the phillycom website)

Really irked he didn't mention the extremely talented Better Life.

Run Smart One set for his usual Calder Friday (5/2) start at the $5,000 level.
Should be in the money at this lower level -- maybe a second-place finish.

Someone posted a "fantasy" Kentucky Derby with all the winners of the past 20 years.
Smarty ran fifth.
Barbaro was second to Monarchos.

The trailer was Supersaver (can't argue with that)

I have no link and I didn't even have any sound but I saw the order of finish.

He finished 4th. But Sporty won a no-purse allowance flat race at the point-to-point in Delaware ($500 to the winner).

From the chart, looks like Run Smart One drifted a bit and got caught at the wire.
Still won $4,100 for the dead heat.
I think it is interesting that Run Smart One gets to run with pretty much the same group every race.
He has found a good niche and Budhoo is milking it for all it's worth.
The races are fairly predictable in advance but Rub Smart One is by far the most consistent of this group.

My Derby picks ran third, fourth and sixth.
But the California Chrome human interest story is a very good one.
Figured that Baldy Bailey would defend Asmussen to the hilt. Bailey is a little troll.

Just my opinion, but I would like to see what happens if California Chrome's connections boycott the Belmont.

You would see a lot of changes in the Triple Crown -- and soon.

I agree with Coburn that if you don't run in the Derby, you shouldn't run in the other two legs.

And the schedule needs to be spaced out.

Bailey was already talking about how they might gang up on CC.
(he should know, the little creep)
