Let's face it she would have had a better chance had she been given a rest post-BC, and then brought back doing what she is best at- running on the turf rather than trying to make her an Oaks filly.

CALIFORNIA GIGI (2019. f. o/o SW Killer Bird, by Summer Bird) broke her maiden in Gulfstream's Race 1 yesterday - setting a new track record while doing it.

She won the one mile + 70 yards all-weather track contest in a time of 1:43.79 by a neck.

The best part - it was her actual birthday. She was claimed out of the race for $16K.

No, but the FB group "California Chrome in Japan" (which begins with Japanese words) is really good with updates. I would assume no news is good.

She is back with her original connections John and Gina Robb. When she is healed from her injury, she will join their broodmare band at No Guts No Glory Farm.
