He ran 1 1/16 miles in 1:39.87. Granted, it was a one-turn race, but still, that's fast for that distance.

Summer in Saratoga won race #9 at Churchill Downs today. Her record is now 8-2-1-2, though she finished first in her last race, but was disqualified.

Antoinette finished 3rd and Hidden Scroll finished last in their respective stakes races. Clearly grass isn't the answer for Hidden Scroll. I am beginning to wonder if anything is the answer. He just folded up like a tent and looked at the other horses as they passed him. So disappointing.

Silky Blue won race #9 at Belmont Park today at odds of 18-1. She has a stubborn streak. Two-horse race at the end and she won by a nose and is a maiden no more. Never gave up. This was her second race, first in over 8 months, and first on the grass.

Doc Cebu is back! He won his hurdle race, The Virginia Gold Cup Stakes, by 11 1/2 lengths! He was timber champion in 2017 and 2018, but only raced once last year and was given a break.

Snap Decision continued his ascent in the steeplechase ranks by handily winning his race, the David Semmes Memorial Stakes, over national hurdles by over 4 lengths. Snap Decision was novice champion last year.

I will post the videos when they are online. In the past it has taken about a week. Maybe, since they are racing with no spectators, they will get them up sooner.

Spinoff is entered in an allowance race on Thursday July 2 at Belmont Park. It's a pretty loaded race with a number of stakes winners in it.

Compass Zone was pulled up in his race. He could be seen in the distance toward the end of the race and looked fine. Possible he missed a jump, or went off course by accident, which can happen on those sparsely marked courses.

Skyray won race #1 at Gulfstream Park today. Off the turf 1 mile race. Switch back to dirt must have helped because he won by 9 lengths.

Hard Strike won on debut in race 4 at Ellis Park on July 4. He is a 2-year-old.

Necker Island finished 3rd in the Indiana Derby today. He had the widest post and then stumbled badly coming out of the gate, losing a lot of ground. Then was rushed up to the leaders and settled in about 4th or 5th and was wide around both turns. Despite this he was in contention close to the lead coming off the second turn. It was a good effort to finish 3rd despite the poor trip. That was his best finish so far in a graded stakes, so perhaps he is in better hands with his new connections. He is now G3 placed. Black type runner for Hard Spun.
