Bad case of seconditis today.

So the winner of the Champagne only got an 89 BSF. I was expecting a higher number by the way he drew off. Makes me wonder if Green Light Go regressed a bit due to the length of time between races? It was close to 2 months. I am hoping he needed the race and will be sharper next time. Thoughts?

SPINOFF last worked 8/31/2019. Few days prior to the PA Derby, Pletcher was still pointing him to that race. Then silence....no entry and no works since 8/31. Wonder if SPINOFF was injured. He had won the prior race nicely so it's not like his form was bad.

Any updates?

I have not seen anything. It is worrisome, though.

Tightly Twisted finished 3rd in the Fall Parx Oaks today. She just ran on Sept 28th. Afleet Destiny was entered, but scratched. I was glad to see the scratch because she just raced in the Cotillion on Sept 21.

Spun to Run is entered in tomorrow's Fall Parx Derby, but no rider is listed. He's also entered in the M.P. Ballezzi Appreciation Mile Stakes against older on Saturday and he does have a jockey listed for that race, so I am guessing he will scratch from tomorrow's race. He just ran twice in September!

Seems like these horses are running on short turn-arounds.

Snap Decision pointing to Foxbrook Novice at Far Hills Oct. 20. The 2 1/2-mile test features more jumping, and more distance, than Belmont. He will face some of the same runners as in his last.

Spun To Run had an easy win in the Listed M.P. Ballezzi Appreciation Mile S at Parx today. Race #9. Win margin was 6 or 7 lengths, I think. Chart isn't up yet. He broke really well and went to the lead, surrendered lead to another horse, then shot back to the front on the turn and drew off. Nice win for him. I don't think his jockey even moved on him. He did it all himself. His connections were really happy. He got some kisses on his rump! :D

110 Beyer for Spun To Run. 3rd fastest of the year for a 3yo; fastest for a 3yo at a mile or over; fastest of the year for any horse at that distance. Wow. Can't wait to see what's next for him!

Lucullan broke through into graded stakes success with a win in the G2 Knickerbocker Stakes at Belmont Park today! Good boy! Lucullan looked really great! And won it fairly easily.

HIDDEN SCROLL has been enjoying some time off and is now back with Mott. He will return as a 4yo. Glad to know this. Had heard nothing since May.

Green Light Go did regress a bit in the Champagne. He got an 82. He is better than that. He had not raced in 2 months, so perhaps that was a factor. He also contested a very hot pace early. Connections have not yet said where he will go next.

I guess it would take some classic and/or multiple G1 winning sons and/or Breeder's Cup champions of either gender for that to go up. He's had a lot of stakes winners but no really huge dirt sons. Wicked strong came closest. Came dang near winning the Travers, which would have been his 2nd G1. I think the only multiple G1 winners have been female and not since his first crop...Questing and Hard Not to Like. Earlier rhis year I thought it might be Hidden Scroll. Then Green Light Go. Either is still possible, of course.

Have not seen this reported anywhere else to verify it. Says Green Light Go will not go in BC Juvenile. https://twitter.com/Steve_Byk/status/11 ... 64480?s=20

EDIT: Finally something definitive. He's done for the year. Sounds like they are taking good care of him. I didn't like the ride he got in the Champagne, either. Why he got in a speed duel surprised me, especially after he had rated so nicely in the Special. Two months between races may have been too long, too. Hopefully he comes back strong in the new year. https://www.drf.com/news/green-light-go ... ockey-club

Snap Decision ran away with the Foxbrook, the distance was no problem for him. He could be the next superhorse for US hurdlers and boy do we need one.
