SNAP DECISION won the American Grand National (G-1) at Far Hills today. What a champ. He is the 4th leading money winner in American jumps history, after the 3 greats, Lonesome Glory, McDynamo, and Good Night Shirt. His record is 16-7-2 in 28 starts over jumps, with 5 G1 wins and earnings of $1,133,400. And his trainer said he's not done yet!

PILKINGTON won race #7, an allowance, at Horseshoe Indianapolis today. His record is now 11-2-1-0. He got left at the gate by several lengths, trailed the field going into the first turn, gradually made up ground on the outside, and poked his head in front right before the wire.

It seems the information I was using the other day when posting about SNAP DECISION's win in the Grand National was incorrect. He is now the 2nd leading money winner in NSA history, behind only McDynamo.

From the National Steeplechasing Association: "With the hard-fought victory on Saturday — his first in four tries in the big race — the 10-year-old Hard Spun gelding put himself at the front of the line for his first Eclipse Award. QUICK MASTER won race # 5 at Glenwood Park in Middleburg, VA yesterday, October 27, the David L. "Zeke" Ferguson Memorial Handicap over jumps. Chart indicates he won by 6 1/4 lengths. Will post video when available.

ELYSIAN FIELD and MILLIE GIRL finished 1-2 in the G3 Maple Leaf Stakes (race #7) today! MILLIE GIRL won this race last year and is a multiple G3 winner. ELYSIAN FIELD won the Woodbine Oaks last year; this is her first graded stakes win. EF also finished second against colts in two of the Canadian triple crown races last year. And she was the champion 3yo filly in Canada last year. Whoop-ti-doo!

Chart: CALLE DE ORO , three deep with the pace near the seven eighths, tapered in a path to contest the pace outside SCOTT TWENTYTWO through the backstretch, suffered a catastrophic injury near the three furlong pole, pulled up shortly soon after then was euthanized on the track.

NIGHT BEACON by SPUN TO RUN won a maiden race on May 10 and subquently did not place in two stakes races in late summer with declining speed numbers. I hope she is okay and gets the winter off.
